HORMONES
alling levels of the strength and stamina producing hormones in the young athletes and the sedentary population do fall prematurely if:
Their training, work schedules and stress levels are exhaustive Their diets are not supplemented with the minerals potassium, zinc, chromium, and boron
The 3 major strength and stamina (anabolic) hormones of the body are:
- Testosterone
- Growth hormone
- Insulin
These hormones normally peak at age 25, hold their peak for 4-5 years and then slowly decline to about half their youthful levels by age 50-55. This process is accelerated by poor nutrition stress and over work.
Science has shown that this fall can be significantly slowed in both athletes and the sedentary population by supplementing the diet with :
- Potassium 100-500 mg per day
- Zinc picolinate 30 mg per day
- Chromium picolinate 400 mcg per day
- Boron citrate 4 mg per day (available from West Lindfield Pharmacy-Sydney)
These nutrients raise testosterone, growth hormone and insulin level from low to normal only. They will not raise the levels above normal.
- Take also a high potency multi vitamin and mineral formula to synergize the action of the potassium, zinc, chromium and boron. “Formula Six” is recommended.
Also with breakfast:
- 4 x 1000 mg Cod liver oil
- 4 x 1000 mg Evening Primrose oil
- 1 tsp cold-pressed Flaxseed oil.
