ROSS RIVER FEVERis caused by mosquito bitesThe mosquito injects a virus into the blood which -if unchecked by the immune system - soon becomes infected. Symptoms are high fever extreme tiredness pain and weakness of muscles depression, nausea, headaches Ross River Fever can be prevented if immediately on receiving the mosquito bite, a ½ teaspoon of vitamin C powder (in juice or water) is taken every 30 minutes for 4 hours. The quantity and frequency of vitamin C will quickly deactivate the virus. The immune system’s ability to fight the Ross River virus is greatly enhanced if a tea of boiled Echinacea root, stem and flower is sipped regularly over the course of the day. By boiling up Liquorice root and Chinese dates with the Echinacea the chances of side effects (nausea) are greatly reduced. If raw Echinacea is not available, boil up 12-15 Echinacea tablets = bring to the boil and simmer on a medium heat for 30 minutes – drink warm. Avoid sunburn and heatstroke as both of these greatly lower immune vitality. Rest up indoors until all early symptoms have gone. Once the Ross River virus has gained a secure foothold in the body it’s much harder to treat. So act quickly. This program may not work if you are sunburnt. Posted: 8 Feb 2005 |
